Will you hold me?

Will you hold me?
No, not now,
When I fall.
Will you hold me when I fall?
That’s the question that I want answered.
Is that confusion on your face?
Or is it hesitation?
Am I reading too much between the lines?
Oh, you will have to forgive me
I’m used to reading too much.
Books and people.
People like you,
Please don’t get offended,
You are not the worst type
Definitely not.
But I have learnt something
Something that I read somewhere
‘Don’t settle for anything less than you deserve’.
So I won’t.
I’m sorry.
I deserve better.
I deserve someone who’s reliable
Because life isn’t always smooth
I know I’ll make bad decisions,
I know I’ll fall,
I know I’ll need help,
And I need someone to be there then,
Someone to hold me
when I fall.
So,
Answer me,
Will you hold me?

I love to write. I prefer writing in a notebook. Typing my heart out isn't really my thing but I'm in for new challenges!!

  1. Asking for reassurance then receiving the answer without a word, it’s amazing how silence can give a clearer answer than words can, the poem portrays that well and so does the emotions. ❤️
